ABOUT THE TENNISMAT
Train smarter and with more purpose, work on accuracy and depth, every time you step on the court.
Tennis is about taking time away from your opponent. This is done through 1: Power and 2: Hitting the ball deep. Practice this with the TennisMat.
The TennisMat is easy to set up and transport, and only weighs about: 8 pounds!
Whatever your level or goals are, there is no better training tool in the world to help you get there!
See some of the examples of how to use the TennisMat below.
TENNISMAT TRAINING - SET UP EXAMPLES
Below are only some examples of the many ways to set up and use the TennisMat. There are hundreds of different ways to set up as a target or mat no-hit zone!. See picture with instructions below.
The selection of products manufactured by The Tennis Mat are not only of the highest quality, but are also available in a variety of options to ensure you find exactly what you’re looking for. With top-of-the-line materials, cutting-edge production technologies and a highly qualified team, we guarantee complete satisfaction.
GROUNDSTROKE DEPTH HITTING AND POINT PLAY
One of the best and most simple setups! Use both mats to cover the part that you want players to hit over and avoid. Do not let your ball hit the TennisMat! Rally down the middle, or hit cross cross courts, or play full court points. This one is a favorite! Play baseline games and if your shot lands on the TennisMat the point stops, and see if the player who doesn't have the TennisMat on their side can win!
RETURN OF SERVE- PLACEMENT AND DEPTH
Work on returning with purpose and depth with this set up. The server stands on the side where the TennisMat is set up, and the returner attempts to hit the return past the mats. Play games to see who can get to 10 good returns first!
Same as the groundstrokes, work on desired depth on volleys by moving the tennis mat closer to the baseline for more of a challenge
THE DIAMOND- AVOID THE MAT IN THE MIDDLE SHAPED LIKE A DIAMOND
The mats are shaped like a diamond and play points or drill. Don't hit the ball in the middle, this helps train keeping the ball deep in the corners and working on your angle shots
Place the Tennis Mat over the service line and have a coach feed you cross court angles, you want your ball to bounce before the Tennis Mat
The Tennis Mat allows a different type of visual target training on the serve. Instead of hitting at targets, aim at zones created by the mat. You can make the zones larger or smaller based on difficulty by folding the mat over.
RETURN OF SERVE
Instead of avoiding the Tennis Mat for this one, use the Tennis Mat as a target and see how many times you can hit your return on the Tennis Mat! (Check out our blog article on Djokovic return stats)
DROP SHOT TRAINING
Similar to the angle set up, place the Tennis Mat inside the service line area and work on hitting drop shots (groundstrokes and volleys) where your shot bounces in the court area before the Tennis Mat
Practice doubles with the Tennis Mat! Two players are at net, and two players are at the baseline. Volleyers have to volley deep and push the baseliners back. Work on depth from the volleyers, as well as volley drop shot.
MAKE THE COURT SMALLER WHEN HITTING UP THE MIDDLE
Work on control of your shots by making the court smaller and bringing in the singles lines. Hit down the middle from the baseline or net being careful not to miss wide onto the TennisMats!
FOLDING THE TENNISMAT AFTER USE
Fold the TennisMat up after use, just like you would a bed sheet for easy transport and storage!
